炎黄春秋 is quite an important magazine. When I worked at the FT we specifically subscribed it. This reminds me that Yang Jisheng, author of Tombstone, former business journalist at Xinhua and current editor at Yanhuangchunqiu, might be another intellectual who is worth studying.
I came across this journal before, very similar to 儒家邮报 in terms for format.
